Junior P. McLeod has dedicated his professional life to public safety, leadership, and service. With more than two decades of experience across corrections, probation, mental health crisis response, and criminal justice operations, Junior brings the experience and leadership Washington County needs in its next Sheriff.

Junior holds a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science and professional training in Security Management from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, one of th enation’s leading criminal justice institutions.

Throughout his career, Junior has served in critical roles with:

His experience working in mental health response environments has also given him valuable insight into crisis management, de-escalation, and protecting both officers and the public.

Junior is a proud father and grandfather who understands the importance of safe communities for families. He believes Washington County deserves a Sheriff who leads with integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

He is running for Sheriff to strengthen leadership, support deputies, and ensure the Sheriff’s Office operates with the highest standards of professionalism and service.
